There are way too many people being scourges to themselves. Don’t believe me? Go to your nearest Wal-Mart. Chances are that you will see obese people smoking in the parking lot. I wonder how low your self-esteem must be to allow yourself to become morbidly obese, let alone being an obese person who also smokes.
Obesity itself can cause heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and joint damage. Add to that list the carcinogens and hundreds of other toxins in cigarettes. Why would they do that to themselves? What happened to valuing your health and, by extension, your life?
Sweet and fatty foods may be hard to resist, and smoking might settle a person’s nerves, but shouldn’t a line be drawn on a person’s unhealthy eating habits before one’s weight gets out of control? And don’t the cons of smoking outweigh its unhealthy effects?
